Leipzig Game Conference

The one thing I like more than the DS is the Wii (even though I haven't played it yet) and the next stop in our "Let's Get Another Minuscule Bite of What the Wii is About" tour is the Leipzig Game Conference which is held over in Europe (too far for me). Although it is not completely on the Wii, Nintendo has stated that it will announce some things during the conference. Let's just hope it's not some lame tidbit of information like gamecube games being remade for the Wii. For early pictures on the different booths, click here.

360 Degree Tear

Throughout videogame history, people have been trying and trying to enter the human psyche and triggering the 2 human emotion that no other videogame has done: sadness and hallucination. It has come to my attention that 2 games in the Xbox 360's future might just do this. Heavy Rain and Alan Wake. Heavy Rain, made by the same people from the stellar Indigo Prophecy, has only one screen shot that really gets me interested: a woman pointing a gun at the screen, but she's crying. Alan Wake is about an author whose stories could or could not be coming to life in the town he lives in. Both titles could be great for the stale video game industry we have today.

Need a Laugh?

For those of you who have never seen the TV show "The Office", we are not friends. So that I can stop hating you, watch it on NBC at 8:30P.M on Thursdays. It's freaking hilarious. For those of you that have seen it, you can go to NBC.com and see 2 new webisodes while you're waiting for the third season. They aren't as great as the ones you see on TV but they'll do the job.

A Good Flash Game?

Yes, it's true. I have found a golden nugget within all the steaming piles of crap. On Miniclip.com, there is a game called Motocross fever and it looks like a crappy PS2 game except with good frame-rate. It's got a simple tricking system on the "WASD" keys and control of the bike is on the "up down left and right" keys. The control leaves something to be desired but overall, this is not a bad game at all. So go check it out!

DS Buyer's Guide

This is for those of you who have a DS but don't realize there are good games for it.
Advanced Wars: Dual Strike- This game is pretty hard and it's for strategy lovers so everyone else, stay away.
New Super Mario Brothers- The mini-games and single player will keep going for a while.
Meteos- It's a really fast puzzler and has lots and lots of unlockables.
Kirby Canvas Curse- A sugar coated adventure game that also has plenty of unlockables.
Trauma Center: Under the Knife- Save a life on the go! This is a Doctor game thats plenty of fun.
Pretty Much Any Wifi Game- With the exception of Lost Magic. That game sucked.

How Fabulous!

As you can tell from my latest posts, I love my DS, but there is no way in hell I'm buying this one. The new pink DS lite. PINK. I guess it's supposed to draw in girl gamers or guys who are "so  comfortable with their sexuality that they can have a pink DS and a pink shirt". It's only coming out in japan but I'm pretty sure it will be coming state-side sooner or later.

MGO Tournament A-Comin'

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence will be having a tournament soon. The tournament will involve sneaking missions so brush up on yourMgs3s5 stealthyness (if thats even a word). The winner will receive a prize that no one really knows about. Could it be some stupid MGS poster? Or maybe a trip to Japan to meet Hideo Kojima? Stay tuned to find out! And for those of you who don't really care because you don't play MGO, I don't really blame you because it isn't the greatest online game on the market.

DS Lite is >,<,or= to DS Phat

All this talk about the Lite has really got me wondering: Is it really worth it? Well, I recently purchased one against my will (my brother wanted it) and I gotta tell you, it really isn't worth it unless your origonal  DS is really really screwed up. I'm talking about screen scratched up and dead pixels everywhere.Nintendodslite
The Lite has a bright screen very similar to looking into the sun and seeing pretty colors on it. There are some colors I had no idea existed in some of the games I play. The only problem is if you have it on the brightest setting all the time, your battery will be going out quicker than a PSP. The button changes are nice though. The A B X and Y buttons aren't like those crappy cell phone buttons, the power button has turned into a switch and the microphone is in the middle now. Also, just like the name says, it is a little bit lighter. This is where the new stuff stops.
It cost $130! This is completely ridiculous for the amount of new things on it. They either should have put more things on it or lowered the price even more. In short, don't buy it unless your DS has been thrown and flushed down the toilet and is just all screwed up.
